Hi! I'm Joy Pak.
Born in South Korea and raised in California before landing in Cincinnati, I've grown to appreciate adapting to new environments and the different perspectives they bring. Hearing other people's stories, along with my personal cross-cultural experience, made me attuned to how people interact and connect with each other and with technology. This curiosity is what ultimately led me to design, where I could translate these observations into meaningful, human-centered solutions that people could actually use.
Previously, I've had the privilege of working as a UX/UI Design Intern at Chamberlain Group, where I led the redesign of the myQ Community web portal serving 12M+ users, and at Dexcom, where I contributed to the early-stage design process for a patent-pending healthcare application concept. These experiences deepened my approach to user research and prototyping, and I've continued building on this foundation, expanding into design systems thinking and more recently diving into spatial/XR experiences. Additionally, my role as a Creative Marketing Designer at New Belgium Brewing, along with my ongoing independent freelance practice, has sharpened my skillset in visual identity and brand systems — from designing for a nationwide beverage launch to building brand identities and fully responsive websites for various organizations.
When I’m not designing, you can usually find me jamming on my guitar, binging a good K-drama, or cafe-hopping around for an iced Americano.
